Magda Apanowicz

Magda Apanowicz (born November 8, 1985; height 5'3" (1,60 meters)) is an Canadian actress, best known for her roles in the roles of Andy Jensen on the TV show Kyle XY and Lacy Rand in Caprica. Apanowicz has Polish heritage and lived in Poland for one year in her 9th grade school years. She attended an acting class in the Vancouver Film School. When she was 10 years old, she discovered her passion for acting after she had watched Pulp Fiction with her brother. Her career began in 2002, when she appeared in an appearance for a short time in Jeremiah And John Doe. From 2007 through 2009 she played the role of Andy Jensen on Kyle XY. The show was also a part of Every Second Counts in 2008, the first Hallmark Channel Original Movie. In 2009, Apanowicz got the role of Lacy Rand as a regular in the television drama Caprica together with Eric Stoltz. She appeared later in Hellcats. in 2012 she starred for the first season of Jane Espenson-scripted web-based series Husbands. Ava DuVernay was born on August 24 1972 at Long Beach California. DuVernay received support from her Aunt Denise when she was just a young girl. Aunt Denise worked as an overnight nurse in order to provide her with an opportunity to study theatre or literature. DuVernay fell in love with the 1961 film West Side Story after her aunt recommended it to DuVernay. DuVernay discovered through her example that art can be a vehicle for activism.
